Kitty and Evan

My grandmother hates to have her picture taken; so I had to sneak this shot. Evan was trying to get into her koy pond. He is almost as big as she is. 85 years old verses 15 months old.

Livin in the lap of luxury

Since the last post we have been to the beach- Cape San Blas Florida. Nice place, great friends and fabulous weather, we started Mother's Day Out, Spent 2 nights in Children's Hospital, Quit Mother's Day Out, went to Boomsday and saw fireworks for the first time, watched a Tennessee Football Game, jumped in the pool fully clothed all by ourself and scared mommy to death, went to the zoo a couple of times, hung out at the park, visited with Great Grandma Kitty and started Gymnastics. Pat has been to Baltimore for work. My work is winding down the busiest time of the year. Needless to say it has been CRAZY.
I should note the Children's Hospital visit. I enrolled Evan in a Mother's Day out program in a great church across the street from our neighborhood. Evan loved it -especially the playground time.. Well, he went 2 days caught a virus (the croup with complications called stridor) we rushed him to the emergency room where they admitted him because his breathing was not getting better. So after 2 nights in the hospital we were able to go home. East Tennessee Children's Hospital is wonderful, but I hope to NEVER have to be there again.

Quick Story

We had a very busy weekend. Saturday we went to a puppy party on Speedwell Manor - gorgeous old mansion built in 1834. But here is the funny story...
So yesterday Robin and I took the kids to get a few things in Target. A thunderstorm started so we had to kill some time until it passed, so we took them to the toy aisle. Robin showed Evan those big, marble, bouncing balls (which Evan loves). So Evan begins throwing them/playing with them. Meanwhile a whiny 6/7 year old walks buy with his mom and Evan proceeds to whack the crying kid in the head with a ball. I apologized profusely to his mom, grabbed Evan and disappeared. Nice how my one year old picks on others...

Here is a picture of my little bully at the puppy party...

Goldie Locks are Gone

THese Pictures are from our stay at the Grove Park Inn in Ashville, NC. I can't wait to go back. We spent all day at the spa. We felt new and young again!! then we came home to Evan.

We had to cut his hair, it was time, we both came to this conclusion independantly of each other and agreed as we discussed Evan's hair had to be cut. I'm not going to lie, it was bad, he yelled, wanted the comb or scissors. He wanted to crawl around in 30 years of strangers hair that had always and will always remain in that floor. It was gross to see little black hairs stuck to Evan fully knowing Evan has blonde hair and that hair off a stranger would most likely end up in my son's mouth!
Great times, we'll get aunt Dana to break out the flobie.
