Great Night for the Lake

It has been too hot to do anything. We take Evan down to the pool to cool off and let him play outside in his sandbox or sprinkler, but we don't let him stay out too long so that he does not over heat. Evan had his 2 year check up - he remains in the 95% in height at 36.5" 70% in weight at 30 lbs and I don't remember the head stats pretty average. His foot size is an 8.5 - Big feet like his daddy. We are in the terrible two's, Evan is good about doing what we ask and he loves to help, but he has horrible moments where he has a tantrum over nothing. Most tantrums revolve around getting dressed, the child loves to be naked. Evan is talking in sentences. I love this because he can tell us if something is wrong, if something hurts, or just to tell us he loves us the best in the whole wide world. This is a great time and we are enjoying our little boy every day.

Pat's Flip for Father's Day

Evan gave Pat a FLip for father's day so we have been testing it out. Here is our first go at saving the videos...

We are alive

Life never seems to slow down. We live for the weekends when we can be with family and experience everything all over again through Evan's excitment as he does something new. This weekend I went outside to weed our flowerbeds, some strawberries have overtaken our beds and since daddy told Evan they were strawberries Evan thinks he can eat them. They are not real strawberries. Even saw me outside and came outside to help. He grabbed his shovel and rake and was eager to pitch in. I love this age, because he wants to help us with everything we do. I hope it never wears off.
These pictures are from a shoot my favorite photographer (Rhonda Thompson - check her out) held last Saturday May 8th. Evan and Averie are so cute and really enjoy being around each other.

Easter and LaConte

Pat and I hiked LaConte again. This time we spent the night on top and came down the next day. It was great. I actually made it down without knee pain! We watched the sun set, then got up EARLY for the sun rise. It was beautiful.
Evan stayed with his BB and went to the Dogwoods Arts Festival with BB and Dana. It was nice to get away for a little bit. We missed him but enjoyed each other.

Almost 2

While Pat and I are hard at work Robin sent me these pictures so I can see what our little man is up to. Playing outside and reading Thomas - two of Evan's favorite things.

Wild Ride

I am at work with no camera to update how big this boy is and how he keeps changing.
Evan caught the flu in February had a double ear infection in March and we are anxiously awaiting spring so we can finally be rid of illness. It has been something every month.
On a funny note, the other night I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner when I notice Evan sitting beside Chubby as Chubby has his face buried into the food bowl. Knowing Chubby's tail is about to be pulled or another harassing action will take place, I kept one eye on him. He proceeds to move/push Chubby out of the way, get on all fours and stick his face into the food bowl like the cat. I quickly pick him up by the waist and hand him off to his father. I'm glad I don't buy the wet cat food.
