Easter and LaConte

Pat and I hiked LaConte again. This time we spent the night on top and came down the next day. It was great. I actually made it down without knee pain! We watched the sun set, then got up EARLY for the sun rise. It was beautiful.
Evan stayed with his BB and went to the Dogwoods Arts Festival with BB and Dana. It was nice to get away for a little bit. We missed him but enjoyed each other.

While Pat and I are hard at work Robin sent me these pictures so I can see what our little man is up to. Playing outside and reading Thomas - two of Evan's favorite things.

Wild Ride

I am at work with no camera to update how big this boy is and how he keeps changing.
Evan caught the flu in February had a double ear infection in March and we are anxiously awaiting spring so we can finally be rid of illness. It has been something every month.
On a funny note, the other night I'm in the kitchen cooking dinner when I notice Evan sitting beside Chubby as Chubby has his face buried into the food bowl. Knowing Chubby's tail is about to be pulled or another harassing action will take place, I kept one eye on him. He proceeds to move/push Chubby out of the way, get on all fours and stick his face into the food bowl like the cat. I quickly pick him up by the waist and hand him off to his father. I'm glad I don't buy the wet cat food.

Big Boy Bed

It happened. I was coming out of our bedroom, groggy, half awake and I saw him rubbing his eyes. I looked to my left and Pat was asleep on the couch. I looked back at Evan. I said aloud "did you get him out of his bed?" without opening his eyes Pat said "no". That night we put him down only to hear the door knob jiggle and the door open. No baby appeared. I walked into the dark. No baby. I heard something move behind the door. There he was. I asked him how he got out of his bed. He came out from behind the door and said "Mama Stuck". I lifted him up into his crib and asked him again, "how did you get out of your bed?" Evan then proceeded to climb out. He was in the far right corner, he hiked his right leg up and flung it over the rail, then used his upper body to lower himself to the ground. I am amazed at how strong this kid is. ***side note*** We were at he park last weekend and there was a real cute little girl (6years old) and he acting the fool to get her attention. He even said "Mama pull-ups". I'll be damned if he did not want to do pull-ups to get this girls attention. I know teenage boys do stupid things to get girls attention, but a 1 year old!?! come-on!

Finally Found What I was looking For!!

You know when you have your heart set on something how it is hard to settle for less? Well, I've been looking for a photographer who is not just a portrait taker, but someone with artistic talent. Let's face it, if you have ever tried to take pictures of your child you know how hard it is to get that perfect picture. Child moves faster than snapshot. Well, through a friend I found her. Rhonda Thompson - GIRL HAS GOT TALENT. I am so amazed with the pictures she took of Evan. The pictures are works of art.
